Privacy Policy

The short version

Everything your family puts in Choreo is encrypted on your device before it syncs, with a key that comes from your private family invite code. We can't read it, and no other family can either. The app has no ads and no third-party tracking. There's no Choreo account to create, on the device or on this website. We never sell anyone's information.

The Choreo app

Choreo runs no servers of its own. The chores, tasks, rewards, points, family member profiles, and any photos your family adds sync through Apple's CloudKit. Before any of it leaves your device, Choreo encrypts it with a key derived from your family's invite code, a secret that never reaches the cloud in readable form. So the data syncs between your devices, but ChoreoTime cannot read it, and neither can any other family.

The app includes no third-party advertising, no analytics tools, and no tracking. There is no Choreo account to create in the app, and no email is needed to use it.

iCloud and Apple

Choreo syncs through Apple's CloudKit, so your encrypted data rides on Apple's infrastructure. Apple's handling of CloudKit is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. Because Choreo encrypts everything with your family's key before it's sent, it stays unreadable to anyone who doesn't have your invite code.

This website

When you visit choreotime.com, our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived server logs, such as the IP address making a request and the page requested, to keep the site running and secure. We don't use these logs to build a profile of you, and there are no advertising trackers on this site.

We also use our host's built-in, first-party analytics so we can see which pages and Buzz posts are useful and which aren't. It uses no cookies, doesn't store any information that identifies you, and never sends data to a third party like Google or an ad network. Page-view counts, top pages, devices, and country-level location are all it sees. None of this runs inside the Choreo app on your devices.

The launch waitlist

Choreo isn't on the App Store yet. If you ask us to tell you when it launches, we store the email address you type and the page you typed it on, and we send you one confirmation. When Choreo goes live, we send a single announcement to that list, and that's the end of it. We never sell or share the addresses, there's no newsletter, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time by emailing us.

Subscriptions and payments

Choreo Plus is sold and managed only through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, handles billing, and issues your receipts under Apple's terms. We don't see your card details, and there's no separate Choreo account to sign in to.

Children

Choreo is a family app, set up and run by a parent or guardian. Children use Choreo within a family their parent created, and a child's information is encrypted with the family's key, exactly like everyone else's. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.

Seeing or removing your data

You're in control of your family's data. The app's settings let you reset or delete your family, which erases the data from your devices and from the cloud. And because everything is encrypted with your family's key, it's unreadable to anyone without your invite code in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be made clear.
